With yesterday’s news that Joey Graham wasn’t extended a qualifiying offer, the experiment with the athletic forward from OK State is most likely over:
Graham all but gone.
The Toronto Star reports the Raptors extended a qualifying offer to Pops Mensah-Bonsu, making him a restricted free agent.
The team did not offer one to Joey Graham and he is now an unrestricted free agent.

There were a few brief moments when we thought Graham might have finally tapped into potential that he showed at OK State. But every time that Joey ever showed glimpses of improvement, he would quickly fall back into [...]

For days now, you have been constantly refreshing Raptors Rapture in order to receive the latest Raptors info. You’ve considered leaving a comment, but perhaps you felt it wouldn’t be properly appreciated by the staff at the Rapture. What you really wanted was to leave a comment that could become an institution on this site, something that Rapture readers of the future would read and think “who’s the genius that came up with that?” Well, never fear, our first commenter driven feature is here!
I’m tired of typing out player’s full names. It’s boring, and it’s time consuming. So because it’s [...]

After yesterday’s Doug Smith rip job, I feel obligated to point out that today’s column is actually quite a good read. It usually is, by the way, and although I was a bit fired up yesterday over what I perceived to be a lack of appreciation for this great game, I still read Smith’s column daily, and more often than not I enjoy it. Today’s is particularly good for an offseason effort, as he touches on a few subjects that are going to become a big deal starting tomorrow, when Free Agent negotiations begin.
First and foremost amongst those is Shawn Marion. [...]

Now that the first phase of the Raptors offseason, the draft, is over its time to start thinking about the next phase, free agency. Bryan Colangelo has already addressed two of the major offseason needs for the Raptors. First, by trading the 3-pt specialist Jason Kapono for Reggie Evans, a grinder at the 4 position and maybe one of the dirtiest players in the league, Colangelo added some strength and rebounding under the hoop. Then, in the draft, Colangelo selected the high flying DeMar DeRozan, who will be the future star at the off guard position.
News came in today that [...]

Tucked inside Doug Smith’s latest blog for the Toronto Star was this little nugget of information:
There are no plans at the moment to have television broadcasts of any of the games. Nothing from NBA-TV, nothing from RaptorsTV, nothing from There Are Too Many Channels In The Universe TV.
That means no breathless discussion of how DeMar DeRozan looked playing against true scrubs, no waiting for the broadcast of some game to see if Roko’s lost that ability to dribble out the shot clock like few other guards in the game.
And I don’t believe there will be an ink-stained wretch from Toronto [...]

It was announced late last night, via his twitter account, that the Raptors first round selection in this years draft, DeMar DeRozan, will be keeping the number 10 when he joins the Raptors. Ten was also DeRozan’s number in college at USC, so I guess despite all the craziness that went on at USC this year DeRozan still wants to keep his Trojan number.
Now that it’s official (kind of) I’m just waiting for the NBA Store to release the jersey so I can order one. They already released Griffin’s jersey, partially ’cause he was a lock to go first overall, [...]

For the past week or so Raptors fans had a pretty good idea of who they were getting in the draft. Leading up to tonight, Bryan Colangelo and company had seen DeMar DeRozan play or work out 25 times. I’m not exactly sure what you are going to find in the 25th session that you wouldn’t have after 10, but regardless, it showed that the Raptors had a significant interest in DeMar. Now it’s official, Demar DeRozan will be dawning the white, black, and red next season. So lets take a closer look at the best wingman to call the ACC home since the [...]

Update (5:49 EST): DraftExpress is now reporting that the Raptors seem to be back on DeRozan at 9. Also, Minny is actively looking to move up to 3, Sacto likes Evans at 4 and may have given him a promise, and Curry might just slip to the Knicks. Only an hour or so away, and this thing is still a clusterfuck.
Update (5:37 EST): My apologies. I’ve been slackin. The VC deal is done. Carter and Ryan Anderson to Orlando/Battie, Alston, and Lee to New Jersey. There is also word that Phoenix and Oklahoma City are discussing a Ben Wallace/Tyson Chandler [...]
