It has been reported by ESPN that that the Warriors are trading talented combo guard Jamal Crawford to the Hawks in return for Acie Law and Speedy Claxton. The Warriors never intended to keep Crawford long term and it had been reported that Crawford and Nelson weren’t getting along (Baron Davis and now Crawford, come on Nellie!).

So the Warriors trade Crawford to the Hawks who, with Bibby about to be a free agent, are in need of another guard. Crawford has been a prolific scorer throughout his career, averaging 19.7 ppg last season, will add one more scorer to the Hawks backcourt that already includes Josh Smith and Joe Johnson.

In return the Warriors get Acie Law, who was great at Texas A&M but has been underwhelming so far in the NBA, and Speedy Claxton who is well… speedy. Claxton will likely play a small role on the Warriors but Acie Law could be a very good backup in Golden State. This trade confirms that the Warriors are likely to draft one of the point guards: Johnny Flynn, Jrue Holiday, Brandon Jennings, or Stephen Curry; in the draft.
