The Toronto Raptors will be back in action on Wednesday night when the Portland Trail Blazers come to town for the first of two meetings between the two clubs this season. For the Raptors, it will be the first game since Saturday night when they came from behind to defeat the Washington Wizards 109-104.  For the Blazers, the game will be the second of a back-to-back as they take on the lowly New Jersey Nets tonight at the Izod Center.

Their is no certainty yet as to whether Toronto will have it’s all-star Chris Bosh back in the line-up on Wednesday night, as head coach Jay Triano has stated that it will most likely be a game-time decision.  Whether Bosh can go or not, Wednesday marks the beginning of a critical stretch for the Toronto Raptors to test where they truly belong in the NBA’s eastern conference.  Currently the Raptors find themselves in 5th, 4 games out of 4th, and 2.5 games up on 6th -a position that seems somewhat stable but can easily change over the course of a few games.

Last season, the Trail Blazers took both games from the Toronto Raptors, including a heartbreaker 98-97 at the Air Canada Center -the first home loss for Toronto’s current head coach Jay Triano.  Tip-off is at 7PM EST, be sure to check back on Raptors Rapture for post-game analysis. Go Raps Go!
