It was an entertaining start to the second-half of the season for the Toronto Raptors, unfortunately all of the excitement didn’t finish off on a winning note. After starting the game ice cold from the field the Raptors actually went into the last minute of regulation with a five point lead over the feisty Grizzlies, only to surrender that lead and fall 109-102 in extra time.
The Grizzlies were lead by the 29 points and 8 rebounds of Rudy Gay, who combined with the penetrating abilities of Mike Conley simply were too much for the Raptors to handle. The win snapped [...]

Raptors Fall to Grizz in OT
The all-star break is officially over, and overall it was a relatively successful one for the Toronto Raptors. Demar DeRozan was arguably the best dunker in the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest, and Chris Bosh pulled down 10 boards, while scoring 23 points –including the two winning free throws –in the big game on Sunday.
As wonderful as this week of inactivity has been for the 5th place Toronto Raptors, the team gets back to work on Wednesday night at the Air Canada Center. Their opponent is the surprising Memphis Grizzlies (26-25), who after starting the season despicably find themselves 3 games [...]
When one looks at the Eastern Conference standings, its pretty clear to see that it consists of 3 definitive groupings: (1) The Elite, (2) The Second Tier, (3) The Downright Pathetic. As of February 15th, our Toronto Raptors find themselves in the 5th seed and the unofficial leaders of grouping number two. On the surface this may not seem like much to celebrate about. Yes, it is a playoff spot, and yes it’s a major step up from last year’s 13th place finish, but in the end finishing 5th to 8th guarantees you nothing but an incredibly difficult first round [...]
The 2010 Sprite Slam Dunk Contest will definitely NOT go down in the books as one of the most exciting dunk contests in the history of the NBA. All four participants – Demar DeRozan, Nate Robinson, Gerald Wallace, and Shannon Brown -are all incredible athletes with the ability to wow the crowd, but for the most part all failed to do so last night.
The most impressive dunk of the night belonged to Toronto Raptors rookie Demar DeRozan who on his second dunk of the first round, utilized the help of Sonny Weems to finally somewhat wake up a crowd that [...]
Hey Raptor Fans. Just wanted to drop a quick post today to remind all of you to tune into the All-Star Weekend festivities this weekend live from Dallas. The weekend gets under way tonight, in direct unison with the Winter Olympics, should be quite the battle for viewership.
Anyways, here is a quick reminder of the Raptors you can expect to see as part of All-Star Weekend:
Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam
The Raptors don’t have players competing for either the Rookie or Sophomore team, but Chris Bosh has been selected to be one of the coaches for the Sophomore team. Should be [...]
Raptors Hold On To Beat Sixers
Through three quarters it looked like the Toronto Raptors were going to cruise to victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night –Lou Williams had other ideas. However, despite putting up 26 points, including two key 4th quarter 3-pointers Lou and the Sixers did not have enough, falling to the Raptors 104-93.
With the win, the Raptors officially head into the All-Star break as one of the hottest teams in the Association –winners of 8 in a row at home, including wins over the Dallas Mavericks and LA Lakers. Tonight, the Raptors were lead as usual by CB4, who put up [...]
76ers at Raptors – Game Preview
In their final game before the all-star break, the Toronto Raptors will play host to the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night at the Air Canada Center. The game will be the second of four meetings between the two teams, with the Raptors taking the first contest 108-106 thanks to some late game heroics by Chris Bosh.
Coming into this one, the Raptors have won seven of their last eight, including a 115-104 win over the Sacramento Kings on Sunday afternoon. Although not yet confirmed, Reggie Evans is slated to make his Raptors regular season debut on Wednesday night against his former [...]
The Turkoglu Effect
As is the case with every high paid player in professional sports, fans absolutely love to rip at and complain about the lack of productivity that individual provides on any given occasion. Small forward Hedo Turkoglu has definitely been no exception to this, it’s just been 51 games that Turk has been a Raptor and he has already often been made the butt-end of fan and media attention.
Yes, Turkoglu’s numbers are down, he’s averaging only 12.4 PPG this year versus 16.8 last year, and 19.5 the year prior to that. Yes, Turkoglu is making a lot money, a total of [...]
For three quarters it was a back and forth affair at the Air Canada Center today between the Toronto Raptors and the visiting Sacramento Kings. For every fast break and jump shot the Raptors made, the Kings were able to respond, led by Kevin Martin who poured in 24 points for the visitors. The one factor that the Kings couldn’t seem to have an answer for -like many other Raptors opponents this year -was the interior dominance of Toronto’s all-star Chris Bosh. For CB4 it was just another day at the office putting up an incredible 36 points, while pulling [...]
Just wanted to post-up some quick game notes in regards to today’s game versus the Sacramento Kings:
Hedo Turkoglu has opted to wear the protective face mask designed for him and will debut with it today against the Kings.
Jose Calderon is also expected to be in the line-up today. And will assume his usual role off of the bench.
Marco Bellinelli will not be available for the Raptors today.
There is a chance that tough guy Reggie Evans will make his Raptors regular season debut on Wednesday versus his former club the Philadelphia 76ers. I’m excited to see how he is mixed into [...]
