AUTHOR: Dee Knee Cola | IN: Dee Knee Cola, Raptors | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Toronto Raptors return home on Wednesday night, when the Los Angeles Clippers reel into the Air Canada Centre without their starting point guard Baron Davis -who opted to not join the team on their 3 game road trip due to back spasms.  For the Raptors, this date with the Clippers represents a more than ample opportunity to continue to build momentum after there 103-101 win over the Charlotte Bobcats on Monday night. In their one previous meeting this season, the Raptors overcame a sluggish start to come from behind and handle the Clips 104-89 at the Staples Center in [...]

Raptors Finally Win, Sneak Past Bobcats

AUTHOR: Dee Knee Cola | IN: Dee Knee Cola, Post Game, Raptors | COMMENTS: None Yet

For the third game in a row, the Toronto Raptors found themselves in a game that was decided in the final seconds.  For the first time in those three, the Raptors walked off the court with a win -one that every Raptor fan knows was desperately needed.  The final in this one was the Toronto Raptors 103, the Charlotte Bobcats 101.
With the win, the Raptors remain in the 8th seed of the Eastern Conference and once again hold a bit of breathing room -albeit only 1 game -over the 9th seeded Bulls. The W also keeps the Raptors in contention [...]

Raptors at Bobcats – Game Preview

AUTHOR: Dee Knee Cola | IN: Dee Knee Cola, Raptors | COMMENTS: None Yet

I wish they weren’t, but the Toronto Raptors are back in action tonight as they make a stop in Charlotte, North Carolina to take on Stephen Jackson and the Charlotte Bobcats.  You don’t need me to remind you, but I will, the Raptors come into this one after back-to-back fourth quarter collapses led to heartbreaking losses against both the Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat.  The Bobcats on the other hand come in riding a 3-game winning streak, have had two full days of preparation, and now hold a comfortable 3 game lead over the Raptors for the 7th seed in [...]

Fourth Quarter Collapse Sinks Raptors… Again

AUTHOR: Dee Knee Cola | IN: Dee Knee Cola, Post Game, Raptors | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Things in Raptorland have shifted. Unfortunately, its not from bad to good. It’s shifted from ugly to heartbreaking.  For the second consecutive game the Toronto Raptors squandered a lead they held going into the 4th quarter, this time at the hands of the Miami Heat 97-94.  The lead reached it’s peak in the 3rd quarter when the Raptors took a 16 point advantage, but quickly dissipated and fully collapsed when the Raptors ran a 3:27 span without a single point.
To make matters even worse, both the Milwaukee Bucks, and more importantly the Chicago Bulls were victorious in Sunday play. For [...]

Raptors at Heat – Game Preview

AUTHOR: Dee Knee Cola | IN: Dee Knee Cola, Raptors | COMMENTS: None Yet

Sunday night marks quite possibly the biggest game of the Raptors season thus far.  The funny thing is, that it is followed by one with the possibility of being equally as important.  On Sunday night, the Toronto Raptors face-off against Dywane Wade and the Miami Heat in South Beach for their final meeting of the season. To this point, the Raptors lead the season series 2 games to 1, however the Raptors last visit to Miami was more than forgettable -a 115-95 blowout powered by Michael Beasley.
Coming into this one, the Raptors find themselves in the 8th seed, looking up [...]

Late Dagger By Melo Sinks Raptors

AUTHOR: Dee Knee Cola | IN: Dee Knee Cola, Post Game, Raptors | COMMENTS: None Yet

After being absolutely demolished by the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night, the Toronto Raptors entered Friday’s contest with the Denver Nuggets as the heavy underdogs despite being on their own home floor.  To help combat that, head coach Jay Triano made several changes to the Raptors starting line-up, inserting both Antoine Wright and Sonny Weems for rookie DeMar DeRozan and the flu-ridden Hedo Turkoglu.  Despite an incredible display of effort and intensity particularly on the defensive end the Toronto Raptors fell short 97-96 in front of a sold-out Air Canada Centre crowd.
After three quarters things seemed stellar in Raptorland, particularly [...]

Nuggets at Raptors – Game Preview

AUTHOR: Dee Knee Cola | IN: Dee Knee Cola, Raptors | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Coming off of a disheartening 25 point home loss, the Toronto Raptors will try to bounce back on Friday night when the Denver Nuggets roll into Toronto for their second and final meeting of the season. In their one previous meeting the Raptors were manhandled by the Nuggets 130-112, a loss that at the time moved the Raptors to under .500 at a mark of 5-6.  Currently .500, the Raptors hope the Nuggets will not hand them the same fate once again.
There is no official word yet, but changes are expected to be made to the Toronto Raptors starting 5 [...]

Raptors Pushed Over By Jazz

AUTHOR: Dee Knee Cola | IN: Dee Knee Cola, Post Game, Raptors | COMMENTS: None Yet

It started ugly and it ended just as bad.  Fresh off of a two game winning streak the Toronto Raptors were simply destroyed by the powerful Utah Jazz on Wednesday night.
The final score, 113-87, a disaster that all began with a 1st quarter in which the Raptors were outscored 33-17.  In the loss the Raps were led by Chris Bosh as usual who put up 20 while pulling down 8 boards. For the Jazz it was an incredibly balanced attack with 7 players -including all 5 starters -scoring in double-digits.
The loss for the Raptors pushes them back into the 8th [...]

Jazz at Raptors – Game Preview

AUTHOR: Dee Knee Cola | IN: Dee Knee Cola, Raptors | COMMENTS: None Yet

The 9th place Chicago Bulls are returning to full-health, and our beloved 8th place Raptors are faced with two incredibly difficult opponents.  The first being the 46-25 Utah Jazz, who come to the ACC for their second and final meeting with Bosh and the boys this season.
Coming into this one, the Raptors have won two straight and are clinging to the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference playoff race. Realistically in order to hold onto this position the Raptors will need to find a way to beat either the Jazz or Nuggets. The Jazz, also winners of two straight, are [...]

Raptors Scratch Out T-Wolves

AUTHOR: Dee Knee Cola | IN: Dee Knee Cola, Post Game, Raptors | COMMENTS: None Yet

Monday’s game against the Timberwolves had three distinct things in common with Saturday’s tilt with the Nets. (1) Chris Bosh led the way offensively, (2) the Raptors had a strong 3rd quarter, (3) the Raptors won.
Monday’s final result: Toronto 106, Minnesota 100.  As previously stated the Raptors were led by the 21 and 10 of Bosh, tying him for the Raptor record for the most double-doubles by a player in a single-season.  The T-Wolves were led by Bosh’s counter-part Al Jefferson who put up 22 while pulling down 7 boards.
With the win the Raptors move back above the .500 mark [...]
