Quite possibly the most important road trip of the Raptors season kicks off on Tuesday night in Los Angeles. Unfortunately for the Raptors it isn’t with a match-up against the Clippers, its a date with the defending champion Lakers.
Having dropped to 6th in the East, and only 2 games up on 9th every game from here on out is that much more important. Nothing would help the Raptors more at this point than a surprise win against the Lakers, something that would definitely provide them with some much needed confidence.
In their only previous meeting this season, the Raptors were able to squeeze one out against the Lakers when Kobe Bryant just missed a buzzer-beater in front of a sold-out ACC crowd. In order to repeat the Raptors will need a much stronger effort than they put forth against the Sixers on Sunday.
As bad as the Raptors have looked, as of late, the Lakers haven’t looked much better. Los Lakers still find themselves comfortably in the 1st seed of the Western Conference, but have lost 3 in a row -including a tight loss to the Magic on Sunday. Hopefully the Raptors can add to their woes, and help their chances at having a winning road-trip -something that we desperately need.
Tip-off is at 10:30PM EST. Be sure to check back on Raptors Rapture for post-game analysis. I will be at this game live and am more excited than a kid on Christmas. Go Raps Go!

Did you know that he Lakers lost all their NBA closing matches in the1960s.They received their first title in Los Angeles in 1972, their 6th since their inception in 1946. It was in the eighty’s that the Lakers reputation soared after they won 5 championships with giants like Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul Jabbar and James Worthy playing under the guidance of coach Pat Riley.
