After missing the buzzer-beater in Toronto, you had to figure there was no way Kobe Bryant -one of the best players to ever play in the Association -would miss a second time, and he didn’t. It was Kobe’s baseline jumper with 1.7 seconds left that was the difference in a 109-107 victory for the Lakers over the visiting Toronto Raptors.
If it’s any consolation, the Raptors played well. Probably a lot better than most analyists would have expected coming into the contest. In fact Toronto led by 8 at half-time, and were in a tie-game after Chris Bosh drained his second triple of the contest just prior to Kobe’s game winner. Unfortunately however, a loss is a loss -and for the Raptors losses are not something they can afford at this time.
With the loss, the Raptors dropped to 32-30, just 1.5 games up on 9th place Chicago. In a losing effort the Raptors were led by CB4 who put up 22, while Kobe led the Lakers with 32.

Fans Perspective
I was at this game live, and I have to give major credit to Lakers fans and the atmosphere they create at the Staples Center. They love their Lakers and they love their Kobe – and for good reason.
