If the Raptors are doing one thing effectively right now, it’s that they are making a strong case for CB4 to pack up and leave once the offseason hits. On Wednesday night the Raptors dropped their third in a row 113-90 to the bottom-dwelling Sacramento Kings.
With the loss the Raptors move into a virtual tie for 6th in the Eastern Conference with both the Charlotte Bobcats and Miami Heat. If the Raptors continue to play at the level they have been since the all-star break it won’t be long before they find themselves on the outside looking in at a playoff spot they thought they were sure to hold.
In the loss the Raptors were led by Andrea Bargnani who put up 20 points in an effort to carry the load of his fellow big man Bosh who had a horrible evening shooting 6 of 20 from the floor. The Kings on the other hand were led powerfully by Tyreke Evans who recorded his first-ever triple-double.
The Raptors continue their road trip next with a stop in Golden State on Saturday night. All Raptors fans can do until then is scoreboard watch and hope the Heat, Bobcats, Bucks & Bulls suffer the same fate the Raps have as of late.
Raptors Player of the Game
Andrea Bargnani – 20 points, 6 rebounds
Fans Perspective
I’m sure I wasn’t the only Raptors fan struggling to sit through this one in frustration. The team has so many talented players on the roster yet they seem to have really hit a wall. If the Raptors go winless on this road trip I’d expect another team meeting in an attempt to once again get players to take ownership for their defensive play.
