Well, at least things seem to be getting better.
After breaking the neverending losing streak (at least we aren’t Cavs fans) the Raptors are getting better production out of Andrea Bargnani and Demar DeRozan and are looking to salvage a season that is likely lost.
But, the schedule has been tougher. Playing the Bucks, Spurs, then the Blazers in a killer three game stretch is not going to help any subpar team get back confidence, but tonight’s game does offer some hope for the Raptors.
With Portland’s obvious lack of inside depth, the Raptors list of post problems probably stops at LaMarcus Aldridge. Stopping Aldridge has been proven to be no easy task as of late, as a motivated LaMarcus has been putting up his best numbers after a dubious All-Star snub.
And with Toronto letting opponents score a league high 48 points a game in the paint, it may just be another All-Star type of night for the leagues best breakout player.
If the Raptors are to win this game they need a solid contribution on both ends of the floor from Bargnani, who averages nine PPG against the Trail Blazers, his performance may just be the difference between competing for a win, or another blowout.
The game starts at 7:00 PM EST and will be on TSN.
