Game Preview #41 Nuggets

15 more games are left in the Toronto Raptors dismal 2011-12 season. Not that anyone is counting down or anything.

On Monday night the Magic exploited the Raptors defense for 15 three pointers in an easy win, tonight the Raptors are looking at another likely loss against the playoff ready Nuggets who have won 14 of their last 15 against Toronto.

One bright spot in Monday’s loss was Gary Forbes who scored a career high 21 for the Raptors. Forbes, who is looking to secure more future playing time with the Raptors, will need more performances like that if he is to be included in the Raptors long term plans.

The Raptors might be without the services of Jerryd Bayless and DeMar DeRozan who are both suffering from injuries. At this point of the season the Raptors can afford to rest players and prevent the risk of further injury.

On the Nuggets side the Denver squad is coming off a statement win against the Bulls and are looking to improve to .500 on their current seven game road trip.

Ty Lawson should give the depleted Raptors backcourt problems. The former UNC star has had a breakout season and scored 27 points in the Bulls win, matching his season high.

Tonight’s game will also feature the match up of Italians Danilo Gallinari and Andrea Bargnani. Bargnani missed out on the first game between the two teams.
