Every once in a while, I get something right ANALYSIS

Readers of this blog have every right to expect predictions from your hard-working scribes. More than that, those predictions should occasionally (OK, more than occasionally) be proven accurate. Lord knows many of my prognostications hit back iron (hell, some of them are air balls), but here’s my pre-season forecast for the Milwaukee Bucks & their coach, from October 30: “Scott Skiles is the worst kind of coach for a chuck-it-up-from-everywhere team, & will be gone by mid-season”.  We’re 32 games into the season, & Skiles is out the door.

I doubt he’ll be the last coach to get toasted. Philly, tomorrow night’s Raps opponent, has been a disappointment, although their Coach, Doug Collins, is highly respected. He also has an excuse: the 76ers were counting heavily on Andrew Bynum as their difference-maker at Centre, & he hasn’t played a minute due to injury. There have been mutterings about how Byron Scott must take some blame for the glacial development of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Even Dwane Casey has been an object of is-he-the-problem discussions here in the Big Smoke. I don’t think he’s on thin ice, but if the season goes sour once again, he & his GM may be out the door.

What do you think? Are there other coaches who should update their resumes? Drop a comment.
