Report Card – Andrea Bargnani

Name: Andrea Bargnani

Position: Power(less) Forward

’12-’13 Season Grade: F

Reason for Grade: biggest disappointment in NBA

Season Highlight: I dunno…not being suffocated with a pillow by his teammates while he slept?

Best Game: 34 points against Pistons in Detroit on Nov. 3

Needs improvement in: He’s been in the league for 7 years, and has regressed. His shooting percentage is down to less than 30% from 3-point territory over his last 2 seasons. Andrea never could rebound, and was below 3 last season on the defensive end. His ancillary stats, like steals and blocks, barely have a pulse. In short, he needs improvement everywhere.

In summary: Andrea is a millstone around the necks of the Raptors. There’s no easy solution for him, or the team. Can his health, which has resulted in 2 straight abbreviated seasons, improve enough to allow him to show something in training camp? Will the new General Manager, whoever he is, decide that the only solution for both player and team is to amnesty this guy?

Next season’s outlook: Your guess is as good as mine.
