Yesterday I was very concerned with the rumors that were swirling around the NBA. There were several sources that confirmed the Raptors made a $60 million offer to Hedo Turkoglu, the Turkish small forward who was in Orlando last season. One day has passed since the beginning of free agency and no action so far in Raptorland. There has been a shit load of speculation however. The Raptors have been one of the worst rebounding teams in the league for the last few seasons. Chris Bosh is an All-Star power forward, but he’s most comfortable in the high post. Fellow big man Andrea Bargnani is, of course, most comfortable on the perimeter.

With yesterday’s news that Joey Graham wasn’t extended a qualifiying offer, the experiment with the athletic forward from OK State is most likely over:
Graham all but gone.
The Toronto Star reports the Raptors extended a qualifying offer to Pops Mensah-Bonsu, making him a restricted free agent.
The team did not offer one to Joey Graham and he is now an unrestricted free agent.

Now that the first phase of the Raptors offseason, the draft, is over its time to start thinking about the next phase, free agency. Bryan Colangelo has already addressed two of the major offseason needs for the Raptors. First, by trading the 3-pt specialist Jason Kapono for Reggie Evans, a grinder at the 4 position and maybe one of the dirtiest players in the league, Colangelo added some strength and rebounding under the hoop. It was announced late last night, via his twitter account, that the Raptors first round selection in this years draft, DeMar DeRozan, will be keeping the number 10 when he joins the Raptors. Ten was also DeRozan’s number in college at USC, so I guess despite all the craziness that went on at USC this year DeRozan still wants to keep his Trojan number.

For the past week or so Raptors fans had a pretty good idea of who they were getting in the draft.
