Yesterday I was very concerned with the rumors that were swirling around the NBA. There were several sources that confirmed the Raptors made a $60 million offer to Hedo Turkoglu, the Turkish small forward who was in Orlando last season. There are a number of reasons that Hedo would not work out in Toronto, which I mentioned in yesterday’s article, but the biggest reason for concern was the bevvy of young talented players at the position that were still available, and for less money at that!
Breathe a sigh of relief Raps fans, the Turkoglu offer is gone. This morning Raptors [...]

One day has passed since the beginning of free agency and no action so far in Raptorland. There has been a shit load of speculation however. A couple of day ago I laid out what the Raptors needed to accomplish during this years free agent signing period and priority number one was a starting small forward. Well, the rumor mill was churning and a number of names have popped up as players the Raptors are looking at.
Upon returning to my house in Oakville after a day in Toronto for the Blue Jays game (I’m sure you don’t care but they [...]
David Lee in Toronto?
Reports have surfaced this morning that David Lee might end up in Toronto next season:
The Raptors have been one of the worst rebounding teams in the league for the last few seasons. Chris Bosh is an All-Star power forward, but he’s most comfortable in the high post. Fellow big man Andrea Bargnani is, of course, most comfortable on the perimeter.
So the Raptors need a big that can operate down low and do the dirty work on the boards. Lee ranked third in the NBA with 11.7 rebounds per game and recorded a league-high 65 double-doubles. He doesn’t have the size [...]
The End of an Era: Joey Graham
With yesterday’s news that Joey Graham wasn’t extended a qualifiying offer, the experiment with the athletic forward from OK State is most likely over:
Graham all but gone.
The Toronto Star reports the Raptors extended a qualifying offer to Pops Mensah-Bonsu, making him a restricted free agent.
The team did not offer one to Joey Graham and he is now an unrestricted free agent.

There were a few brief moments when we thought Graham might have finally tapped into potential that he showed at OK State. But every time that Joey ever showed glimpses of improvement, he would quickly fall back into [...]
Now that the first phase of the Raptors offseason, the draft, is over its time to start thinking about the next phase, free agency. Bryan Colangelo has already addressed two of the major offseason needs for the Raptors. First, by trading the 3-pt specialist Jason Kapono for Reggie Evans, a grinder at the 4 position and maybe one of the dirtiest players in the league, Colangelo added some strength and rebounding under the hoop. Then, in the draft, Colangelo selected the high flying DeMar DeRozan, who will be the future star at the off guard position.
News came in today that [...]

DeMar Staying With Number 10.
It was announced late last night, via his twitter account, that the Raptors first round selection in this years draft, DeMar DeRozan, will be keeping the number 10 when he joins the Raptors. Ten was also DeRozan’s number in college at USC, so I guess despite all the craziness that went on at USC this year DeRozan still wants to keep his Trojan number.
Now that it’s official (kind of) I’m just waiting for the NBA Store to release the jersey so I can order one. They already released Griffin’s jersey, partially ’cause he was a lock to go first overall, [...]
For the past week or so Raptors fans had a pretty good idea of who they were getting in the draft. Leading up to tonight, Bryan Colangelo and company had seen DeMar DeRozan play or work out 25 times. I’m not exactly sure what you are going to find in the 25th session that you wouldn’t have after 10, but regardless, it showed that the Raptors had a significant interest in DeMar. Now it’s official, Demar DeRozan will be dawning the white, black, and red next season. So lets take a closer look at the best wingman to call the ACC home since the [...]
Ladies and Gentlemen it is finally here, the day we have all been waiting for (us lottery teams at least), the NBA Draft. After weeks of waiting and countless mock drafts we finally get to watch the real thing! In all likely hood this mock draft will end up like most of my NCAA tourney brackets, absolutely wrong and ruined by upsets, or in this case stupid GM’s. So with less than 12 hours until the start of the draft I present you my 8th and final mock draft. Enjoy:
1) LA Clippers: Blake Griffin (Highlights) – Blake Griffin has been [...]
Everyone and their grandmother are tweeting about the recent Shaq trade. Although it seems like Durant is a little baffled. I would take this time to talk about the trade impact for LeBron and the Cavs, but it seems like everyone else beat me to the chase. Seriously though how the fuck did you guys shoot those out so fast? Anyways while everyone else is blowing their load thinking about the dream matchup of Shaq and James, there are a few guys no one is talking about, Wallace and Pavlovic. So before my body forces me to fall asleep I’m [...]
