Who would be on the Toronto Raptors Dream Team?
Starting Power Forward: Chris Bosh
Chris Bosh might go down as one of the most underrated and underappreciated players in the history of the game. Despite many Raptors fans still having spite for his departure, it felt wrong to leave him off an all time Raptors Team.
Bosh flirted with 20 and 10 averages for five seasons in Toronto from 2005-2010. To put those numbers in perspective, the only players that averaged 20 and 10 boards this past 2016-2017 season of stat-stuffers were Karl Anthony Towns, DeMarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook. KAT, Boogie, Brow and Brodie are all players that will likely be making their way to Springfield when their careers are done.
It appears that Bosh’s production is often underappreciated because this period of Raptors basketball was some of the darkest days. However, the onus should not be on Chris Bosh. He never had the help necessary for a deep playoff run.
Some of his best teammates during this stretch are not even in the league anymore: T.J. Ford, Mike James, Hedo Turkoglu. Great work Bryan Colangelo.
One of the saddest thoughts as a Raptors fan is thinking how much success Chris Bosh could have had if he was surrounded by stars.
Oh wait- we saw it happen in Miami. Four trips to finals in four tries. Not bad.
