Starting Center: Bismack Biyombo

Honorable Mentions: Antonio Davis, Charles Oakley, Amir Johnson

This was a tough decision, like the point guard spot. I could have opted to go with Antonio Davis or Charles Oakley.

However, I felt as if Antonio Davis was ultimately disqualified from an unsung heroes list having been an all-star. Charles Oakley is in the same boat. Oakley was a highly touted lottery pick drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1985. Oak also has an all-star appearance on his resume.

I ultimately went with Bismack Biyombo because for the one season he was a Raptor, he might have been the most beloved. Bismack played all 82 games in the 2015-2016 season but started little over quarter of those games.

However, where he made his mark was in the post-season.

After an injury that sidelined starting Center Jonas Valanciunas, Bismack Biyombo snatched the spotlight.

He stepped up in the biggest games with his infectious energy on the defensive end. He had many nights with huge rebound games and many nights with huge block games. His significant defensive plays often resulted in a dunk on the other end.

Biz brought out the patented Dikembe Mutombo finger wag and might be most remembered for his iconic block on forward LeBron James in game four of the Eastern Conference finals in which he met the eventual Finals MVP at the rim.

I believe that no other role player has captivated an entire fan base in a single post-reason run to the extent which Biyombo did in 2015-2016 season. It was this reciprocal love of Biyombo for the city, and the city for Biyombo which made his departure all the more difficult in free agency.

There will never be another Biz.
