Opponent: Cleveland Cavaliers

Stat line: 20 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block

Another shorthanded game for the Toronto Raptors as Marc Gasol and Pascal Siakam were inactive for the game, meaning Serge Ibaka had to yet again carry a big workload as the starting center for the team. He hasn’t disappointed however and has now really found his groove as the starter playing alongside Kyle Lowry and Fred VanVleet.

Ibaka made his presence known early against this weak Cleveland team as he finished the first quarter with seven points on a perfect 2-of-2 shooting on the field to go along with three rebounds as the Raptors got off to an early two-point lead.

Ibaka did take a backseat in the second quarter however as the rest of the team was on fire. He finished the quarter with three points to go along with three rebounds, two assists and a block as the Raptors lead ballooned up to 16 entering halftime.

The third quarter was probably Ibaka’s worst quarter of the game. His shot wasn’t falling like it was early in the game as he was only able to score four points on 2-of-5 shooting to go along with two rebounds and a steal.

With the Raptors up by 17 heading into the fourth quarter, the Raptors were looking to maintain their lead, and they did just that. While Ibaka only played five minutes in the final quarter he managed to help put the game out of reach as he finished the quarter with six points and two rebounds on a perfect 3-of-3 shooting as the Raptors ended up winning by 20.

Ibaka had a fantastic week overall for the team as he finished with averages of 20.0 points, 10.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game. Hopefully, this will be a continuing trend going into next week for Ibaka.
