Another night, another double-double. That seems to be the norm these days for Serge Ibaka as he had tallied seven straight double-doubles heading into this game and has had a fantastic week thus far. This matchup wasn’t any different as Ibaka looked as focused as ever to start this match.

Ibaka was hitting the glass hard against Jakob Poeltl as he finished the first quarter with four points and five rebounds as the Raptors were up by seven points. He turned it up even more in the second as he scored eight points and grabbed four rebounds as Ibaka and the Raptors were rolling.

The third quarter looked like more of the same for Toronto, however, Ibaka got into some foul trouble and wasn’t able to contribute as much. He was only able to score two points to go along with three rebounds as the Raptors were looking to seal the win in the fourth quarter up by 13. Ibaka had a strong fourth as he was able to tally seven points and two rebounds, but unfortunately, the rest of the Raptors did not match his level of intensity. The team struggled to defend anyone on the Spurs and blew their 13 point lead to lose by one point.

Even though this was a very disappointing week for the Raptors, Ibaka was clearly the best player for them this week and continues to build on his career year. As long as Ibaka can keep up this level of play, the Raptors won’t have very many poor weeks like this one.
