Patrick McCaw

Oh, yikes. That looked like a sore one for Patrick McCaw, who actually had – dare I say it? – a respectable week up until Wednesday night’s showdown with the Philadelphia 76ers. I don’t mean to slander McCaw after he picked up a, clearly, brutal injury, but his performances do leave a lot to be desired.

After a fairly solid game from McCaw against the Hawks – where he tabled four assists and three steals – he checked into the game against the Sixers looking to build on a strong defensive performance. 18 seconds later, he was checking out of the game, holding a blood-soaked towel against his nose.

It was all accidental, of course, not that makes it any better. As a three-point attempt was wedged between the hoop and backboard, Sixers rookie Norvel Pelle swung an errant elbow that caught McCaw in the nose and bang.

Literally. McCaw was down for a good while before getting up and being assisted back to the locker room.

That’s no fun for anyone, so we wish McCaw the best of luck and hope he’s not out for too long. Injuries are never nice to see, no matter who’s on the receiving end of them. While he is not the most popular, you can’t doubt the effort of Patty McThreeRings.

VERDICT: STOCK DOWN
