There isn’t a lot to say about Terence Davis that Raptors fans don’t already know. It’s been amazing to see the progress Davis has made this season – his confidence continues to rise with each passing game.

The rook never heard his name called on draft night, but that didn’t stop Davis from pursuing his NBA dream. He was able to secure a spot with the Denver Nuggets Summer League team, and after seeing Davis play just one game, Masai Ujiri signed the Ole Miss product to an NBA contract.

Fast forward to Toronto’s last week of games – in the absence of Kyle Lowry and Norman Powell, Terence Davis was named a starter for the game versus Brooklyn, a spot typically reserved for Patrick McCaw, though, we like the Davis decision here at Raptors Rapture.

Like always, Davis hustled for rebounds and played aggressively on offence, scoring nine first-half points.

Davis didn’t slow down in the second half, scoring 11 points on strong three-point shooting. The Nets nearly completed what would’ve been an improbable comeback but wound up falling just short in their effort.

By now, it’s clear that Nick Nurse really believes in Davis, even though Toronto’s coach has, at times, been short with the rookie in post-game press conferences. Among the team’s starters, Davis played the fewest first-half minutes, however, the second half was where Davis took off and Nurse really had no choice but to leave Davis on the floor.

For the week, Davis finished with averages of 16.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. Not bad for an undrafted rookie that was snubbed from the Rising Stars game.
