Starters Grades

<a rel=. Point Guard. Toronto Raptors. KYLE LOWRY. B+

NORMAN POWELL. A-. Appearing his second game back from injury, Powell played exceptionally well in most areas. That said, he too struggled with his shot, specifically from three where Powell finished 1-7. His 40 minutes were a season-high, and Powell’s 24 points give him a total of 46 in his two games back from injury. Failing to card a single assist or steal was a tad disappointing, though.. Shooting Guard. Toronto Raptors

A+. Besides Nikola Jokic, OG Anunoby was the best player on the floor Sunday evening, scoring a career-high 32 points in a losing effort while racking up not 1, not 2, not 3…no, how about SEVEN steals against Denver. With Toronto down both Gasol and Ibaka, it was Anunoby and Hollis-Jefferson who spent the majority of the night guarding Jokic, and while the big man ultimately wound up finishing with a triple-double, both did a sensational job trying to slow him down. If Anunoby can deliver this type of performance in the playoffs, watch out.. Small Forward. Toronto Raptors. OG ANUNOBY

Toronto Raptors. PASCAL SIAKAM. D. As good as Pascal Siakam has looked since the all-star break, he was anything but against the Nuggets. Toronto’s first-time all-star finished 6-21 from the field (1-7 from 3pt), committed four turnovers and produced one of his least efficient outings of the 2019-20 season. Looking visibly frustrated at times, Siakam needs to learn how to better navigate the rough waters that come with being a team’s main option; there are nights where he looks like a master, but games like this do serve as a reminder to everybody just how new this all is to No. 43 on the Raptors.. Power Forward

RONDAE HOLLIS-JEFFERSON. B. Given the near-impossible task of guarding Jokic, Hollis-Jefferson did just about all he could in the matchup. As usual, he gave it everything he had and wound up finishing with nine points, three rebounds and three assists. Hollis-Jefferson’s -2 rating was best amongst Toronto’s starters. Considering the fool’s errand he was saddled with on this night, R-H-J wound up playing well, all things considered.. Power Forward. Toronto Raptors
