The Toronto Raptors finished the 2014/15 season with 49 wins. With this statement alone, it might have been considered a successful season. Unfortunately, after an embarrassing sweep at the hands of the Washington Wizards, the team has faced harsh and warranted criticism.
Looking back at the season that was, it is worth analyzing at every player, as well as GM Masai Ujiri and head coach Dwane Casey to see who thrived and who struggled. Over the last month, we at Raptors Rapture have written report cards for the above contributors. This is a master list of those report cards.
We chose to evaluate players and the head coach with three scores: defence, offence and overall. That being said, many other factors contributed to their scores. To start, we looked at leadership, improvement and effort.
We chose to evaluate the GM with just an overall score, which includes a rating of his transactions during the summer and throughout the season.
Overall, this was a good season for a flawed team. Considering the fact that Ujiri has vowed to overhaul the roster, the following report cards may be a useful of a way of understanding who was for real this season and who should be shed. The report cards are also a way of remembering back to the first few months of the season, to evaluate what was working so well for the Raptors and what happened to lead to their demise.
