NBA mock draft 2015 – Raptors get their man!

Rapture Nation, the night is almost here. Despite the Toronto Raptors having only one pick, and that’s #20 (the penalty for having a dandy regular season), we live in hope. Our team needs some help up front, and I say we’re going to get it! This NBA mock draft 2015 is somewhat contrarian, as is my nature, in that I’m calling for many teams to draft according to need, rather than utilizing that tired cliche “best player available” as a guide. We’ll see how much egg I’ve got on my face Friday morning.

1. Minnesota Timberwolves
86. The T’Wolves are in the happy position of having their team’s needs align with the best player available. With their wing position sound (Andrew Wiggins) and perhaps their Power Forward (Anthony Bennett), the only thing they will lack is experience.. Power Forward. Kentucky. Karl-Anthony Towns. 1. player
2. Los Angeles Lakers
Duke. Jahlil Okafor. 2. player. 20. The Lakers have needs everywhere, so they should grab the next best big man on the board. Okafor can be an impact player from Day 1.. Center
3. Philadelphia 76ers
Shooting Guard. Ohio State. D'Angelo Russell. 3. player. 93. Philly doesn’t need any more front court projects. Instead, they should be thrilled to grab a feisty, stong-shooting guard. Russell will get the minutes he needs to build a solid career.
4. New York Knicks
27. The Latvian centre has been zooming up the boards. He can shoot the 3-ball, grab rebounds in traffic, and won’t back down from anyone. Knicks fans who are sick of Andrea Bargnani will be pleasantly surprised with this Euro.. Power Forward. Latvia. Kristaps Porzingis. 4. player
5. Orlando Magic
Another team which needs more backbone will get it with this fellow. He will need to establish his defensive capability, but when he does, Orlando will be able to move Nic Vucevic for a nice return.. Center. Kentucky. Willie Cauley-Stein. 5. player. 38
