Losing Chuck Hayes, Tyler Hansbrough and Greg Steimsma left the Raps with one quality center: Jonas Valanciunas. The addition of Biyombo gives flexibility at the position, but this wasn’t the best of signings.

The one thing Biyombo does add to our unit is a strong defensive anchor. On average, Biyombo got 4.8 points, 1.5 blocks and 6.4 rebounds in 20 mins of playing time per game.
Seeing the rebounding total higher than the points is often a sign of strong defence and weak offence, and that’s a perfect description of Biyombo. Nonetheless, his defensive abilities should compliment well with Valanciunas’ offensive abilities, creating a balance at the center spot.
