Golden State Warriors
Last season: 67 – 15
This season: 55 – 27
Do you want to be the brave soul who thinks this team is headed for a disappointing season? Be my guest, but I’m not with you. The defending NBA champions put on the floor perhaps the best small ball lineup I’ve yet seen. Led by the ridiculous Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, who can get white-hot right quick, and Draymond Green, the player we hope DeMarre Carroll might be someday, these guys have all the tools.
If you want to play big, Andrew Bogut will give you all you can handle. The Warriors have managed to turn afterthoughts like Marresse Speights and Festus Ezeli into sound members of a deep rotation. Andre Iguodala still has game.
I’ve decreased the Warriors’ win total simply because I don’t believe they can enjoy two magical seasons in a row.
Can this team repeat as champions? Certainly.
