Brooklyn Nets

Last season: 38 – 44

This season: 31 – 51

Here’s another team which needs to get serious about starting over. They can tread water with this version of the Nets, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they flop miserably and get blown up by the trade deadline.

On paper, a roster featuring Jarrett Jack at point, Joe Johnson firing mid-range jumpers from his small forward spot, and the strong scoring of Brook Lopez, plus Thaddeus Young, should be able to stay in most games. But who’s going to help them? Andrea Bargnani [ha!]? Their prized rookie Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, or perhaps tough guy Bojan Bogdanovic?

They have precious little depth – woe betide them if their big dogs are sidelined. There’s no reason to believe they can stop even a modest offensive team.

Take the under on the Nets.
