2. Ross, Johnson and Wright for Gibson and McDermott (Bulls)

Next on our list is one I really like, but it’s not at all likely to happen as constructed.

We take a quick look at the Chicago Bulls, who aren’t doing that bad (15-11), but aren’t looking that good either, winning only 4 times in their last 10 games and currently on a three-game losing skid. Derrick Rose is officially a shell of his former self, Joakim Noah is nursing a shoulder injury, and he and Taj Gibson are officially on the trade block. Enter the Raptors.

The Deal:

Given the payroll and salary cap situations for both teams, this wasn’t as clear cut as I thought it would be. First of all, it seems that Chicago loses on the deal at first glance. There’s no way that Gibson alone can be had by the Raptors, and they would have to give up too much to make it work out.

In the end, as much as would be great to have Gibson and his energy along with McDermott and his tremendous upside, this is just one of those “wish it would happen” deals.
