OG’s shortcomings – Was he hyped up?

Anunoby however, does have parts of his game to definitely work on. This collegiate season has exposed some of his deep flaws as a prospect after being so heavily scouted this season. He has not developed his outside jump shot the way teams expected him to only being a capable 3PT shooter (31% 3PT — and that’s college range). His overall shooting consistency has dipped whether it be due to increased external pressure on being the focal point of the Hoosiers team or a simple over hyping of his talents altogether.

Anunoby cannot reliably create shots off the dribble. As a result, Indiana head coach Tom Crean uses him in post-ups, rather than face up/triple threat situations far from the basket. This is reasonable seeing as OG is an athletic, strong and slashing player who excels around the rim (71% 2PT).
