Las Vegas odds makers have updated the lines for the upcoming NBA season following all of the recent free agent signings and trades. The Raptors are currently at 50/1 odds to win the NBA Championship in the 2017-18 season.

With the conclusion of the NBA draft and the high volume of trades and player movement in the free agent market, Las Vegas odds makers have updated the lines on who they feel are the favourites to win the 2017-18 NBA championship.

The Toronto Raptors are currently at 50/1 odds to be crowned NBA champs next season. How you feel about that as a Raptors fans will depend on whether you are a glass half full or a glass half empty kind of person.

More from Raptors Rapture

Glass half full Raptors fans should be content that odds makers still feel that Toronto is one of the 10 best teams in the NBA. Which means there are 20 other teams in the league that are considered a longer shot to win next season. Those are good odds.

That 50/1 line could improve because all signs point towards Masai Ujiri not being done as far as player movement on the Raptors roster.

The Golden State Warriors are the odds on favourite to repeat as NBA champions with 10/17 odds.

Glass half empty fans will point to that fact that odds makers now view Toronto as only the fourth or fifth best team in the East following the draft and free agent signings.

Cleveland ranks second in the NBA at 5/1 with Eastern conference rivals Boston now third overall with 15/2 odds. Washington is ahead of Toronto at 40/1 with the upstart Milwaukee Bucks even with the Raps at 50/1.

The Brooklyn Nets are the biggest long shot to be crowned champs at 750/1. Apparently Vegas doesn’t think much about the addition of DeMarre Carroll to the Nets line up.

There are still some key players that could be moved in the coming days which will no doubt shake up these odds once again.
