Anthony Bennett 2015-16

TORONTO, CANADA – SEPTEMBER 28: Anthony Bennett
TORONTO, CANADA – SEPTEMBER 28: Anthony Bennett /

You didn’t think I was going to make a list like this and not include Bennett did you?

The Brampton, ON native was the No. 1 pick in the 2013 NBA draft who is now out of the league in 2017.

His departure from the league in such a short period of time wasn’t because of some drug related issue or criminal charges that would upset a teams fanbase if he was signed by them; he just wasn’t a very good basketball player.

Bennett was given several opportunities to develop his game and show that he belonged in the NBA but he couldn’t deliver for any of the four teams that signed him.

The Raptors thought that perhaps a move back home to the Toronto area could help salvage Bennett’s career, but that didn’t help either.

Bennett played in 19 games for the Raptors during the 2015-16 season and averaged 1.5 points per game during that stretch.

Last year, he ended up signing in the Turkish league for Fenerbahçe.

After a few weeks with the team they sent out a press release announcing they’d cut him but Bennett denied being cut and claimed he was still with the team.
