Toronto Raptors season report cards: Grades for each Individual
By Jordan Skuse
Malachi Richardson
Richardson was the return for Bruno Caboclo, coming over from Sacramento. The sample size, both in the G-League and NBA, is too small to provide an accurate assessment of where he’s at, and how he fits into Toronto’s plans moving forward.
In 2016-17, Richardson was a standout player for the Reno Bighorns, averaging more than 21 points per night. His influence was far less significant here in Toronto. Under contract for at least one more season, it remains to be seen what his role will be in 2018-19, and potentially in the years to follow.
Some inside the organization felt Richardson was slightly out of shape upon arriving in Toronto. With that in mind, getting in better physical shape ahead of summer league could go a long way in carving out a potential role with one of Toronto’s clubs.
