Are There Enough Minutes To Go Around?

Not only is there speculation surrounding the starting lineup, but there are also questions regarding the rotations.

The Raptors have four or five (depending on your Kay Felder stance) point guards that they view as roster players and another one listed as a two-way player in Jordan Loyd.

They also have more wing depth than last season and a player who has fallen off the depth chart in Norman Powell. It’s easy to forget that just one season ago, Powell was a starter. If Powell works his way back into the rotation, it’s unclear who’s minutes he will be taking.

Powell will have a chance to prove himself in training camp this year, and his performance could surely make this question more difficult to answer for Nick Nurse.

In addition to a talented backcourt, the team will also have to figure out a way to fit Greg Monroe in the rotation. He only signed for the veteran’s minimum, but he rebounds the ball well, a significant need for the Raptors.

Without accounting for Monroe or Powell, the Raptors already have 10 rotation players. If Nurse attempts to work them into the fold, there might not be enough minutes for everybody.
