Are There Any More Moves To Make?

Masai Ujiri did a great job restructuring the roster this offseason. Before the trade, the team appeared stagnant and perhaps stuck in the mud. Other East teams were either getting players back or making strong moves to improve this season.

With the majority of the contracts on Toronto’s books expiring in 2020, running the same team back without any major changes for another year may not have been the best idea.

They have already added Kawhi Leonard, Danny Green, and Greg Monroe in addition to retaining Fred VanVleet. Could there possibly be another addition to the team?

Rim protection could be an area Toronto needs to address before the playoffs. Outside of Serge Ibaka, there are not many bigs with a strong defensive presence. Even then, he has yet to show the defensive impact he once had with Oklahoma City.

Valanciunas has the size to contest shots at the rim, but he lacks the speed and timing to shift over on time to help. Given the number of great perimeter defenders on the team,  addressing rim protection could also be seen as a minor issue for now. With the way the team looks now, I would not expect any moves to be made before the start of training camp.
