How Miles fits in

This summer, the Raptors added two new wings in Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green who will surely get minutes in the rotation. Norman Powell and Malachi Richardson will be trying to get more minutes this year. Delon Wright is also able to play both wing positions given his height and length. It’s safe to say that Miles could lose some minutes.

His role with the team will probably involve Nick Nurse alternating between him and Green as the primary catch and shoot guy. Green might be the better Defender, but Miles would offer a more aggressive offensive approach off the bench. His defense could limit the number of minutes he gets this season. Green and Leonard’s ability to hit the three while playing elite defense eliminates the need for another shooter in the lineup to close games.

As long as Miles shoots efficiently from three, he should be considered the best spark off the bench in terms of scoring. His chemistry with the bench unit last year should allow him to get his usual minutes with the second unit this season. It’s going to be hard to imagine him in closing lineups this year with the extra shooting and defensive upgrades that Toronto made this offseason with Danny and Kawhi.
