Despite their recent slide, the Toronto Raptors still boast an excellent record. It follows that some members of our team will participate in All-Star Weekend. Here’s some intelligent guesses.

On February 17th, the 2019 All-Star game will take place in Charlotte, North Carolina, home of the Hornets. There will be a few interesting changes to look for. First, LeBron James being in the Western Conference could mean a new captain from both the East and the West. In addition, the draft in which the two captains choose from a pool of players from both conferences will be televised.

However, there’s more to this All-Star weekend than the game on Sunday. The Rising Stars game and All-Star Saturday Night have also been known for their fair share of memorable moments in history. The change in formats for most of the events have also made the All-Star weekend more enjoyable for fans.

Based on the depth and success that the Toronto Raptors have shown this season, there is a reason to believe they will be well represented in Charlotte this All-Star Weekend. Most of the selection process is based on popularity, but their ability on the court can earn some Raptors a chance to participate.

If there is one event that I’m not confident a Raptor will participate in, it’s the Dunk Contest. With the trade of DeMar DeRozan and the currently injured Norman Powell barely getting any playing time, I don’t see any other player being able to get enough consideration to receive an invitation. However, there is still the Rising Stars challenge, The Three-Point Contest, The Skills Challenge, and the All-Star game.

I will be discussing which Raptors will have the best chance in each of these events and how they will stack up against potential competition.
