The Toronto Raptors went 6-1 over the past two weeks. Their only loss came in Boston on Wednesday. Despite falling to the Celtics, Toronto remains the East’s best shot at dethroning the Warriors. Time for 6ix Takes…

Kudos to the Celtics…they were the better team down the stretch in a game featuring a couple of Eastern Conference powerhouses. A playoff series between them and the Toronto Raptors would be quite something. Hope to see it.

Apart from that loss, Toronto was perfect over its recent 14-day stretch, winning six of seven games, including Vince Carter‘s return back on Jan. 8. This team, having already been Punk’d by Dwane Casey, wasn’t about to let it happen again with Carter.

Nurse’s men prevailed 104-101, but it came right down to the wire with Carter even having a chance to tie the game with a last-second, three-quarter court heave, but his attempt would miss. Badly. He missed on purpose. I know he did. His heart is here, in Toronto. Not in Atlanta. Tampering is fun.

(PULL THE TRIGGER, MASAI!)

Also –

  • Lowry continues to play his heart out, but his shooting struggles are getting more difficult to ignore.
  • Bradley Beal‘s murky future in Washington (but let’s all agree he’d win the MVP if he got to play Toronto every game).
  • Offensive struggles in clutch time (Kawhi is so good, his teammates just watch him sometimes…)
  • Plus, Siakam’s extra spicy finish versus Phoenix (plus, an encouraging display from CJ)

Finally…. The Spurs hit DeRozan with a flurry of MVP chants recently. Let’s hit Boucher with an MV-B chant one of these nights…

Now, let’s back up slightly and revisit Vince…
