C.J. Miles – Stock Up

Oh, what a beautiful morning!

If anyone woke up with a bigger smile than C.J. after the last few games I would love to meet them, they could well be the happiest person on the planet! This person doesn’t exist though, because there can be no one happier than C.J. Miles right now.

The veteran sharpshooter was having a remarkably poor year up until this week, there wasn’t a shot in the world that looked like it would fall for Miles. As such, his impact on the team was rendered completely moot. The main assignment for C.J. is to shoot three’s, and lots of them. Miles remains as the Raptors only real volume shooter from deep, and when his shot isn’t falling then the Raptors three-point shooting struggles as a result.

This week has been a real change of fortunes for C.J. and the Raptors, he averaged 11 points across the last four games, while shooting 50-percent from three, including 4-5 from deep against the Kings. It finally looks like C.J. Miles has found his shot and the impact that it could have on the Raptors is huge. Toronto ranks in the bottom ten for three-point percentage while ranking in the top ten for attempts per game.

It’s worth noting that C.J. is attacking the rim with a lot more confidence too, he’s looking for the ball constantly and isn’t settling for bad shots. His defense is looking a lot more active, too. He had five steals against, the Grizzlies, a season-high for Miles. The last few games have lifted a huge weight from Miles’ shoulders, long may the three-point barrage continue.

Same time next week everyone, see you all then!
