March 14 – Toronto Raptors vs Los Angeles Lakers

Matchup Rating: 5/5

The Raptors have geared up for a Finals run. They are sporting their best team, on paper, in their entire franchise history. Their time is now… to exorcise the city from the ghosts of LeBronTO.

LeBron James, proud ruler of LeBronTO visits the city for the first time since razing it last May. Now a member of the Lakers, things haven’t been quite the same for the King.

The Lakers have fallen to the 11th spot in the West with a 29-31 record and are at least three games away from a playoff spot. They are only 3-7 in their last ten games and are regressing in front of everyone.

James is still putting up gaudy numbers: 26.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 7.8 assists. But even his triple-double couldn’t save the Lakeshow from the Grizzlies last week. The Lakers looked despondent, especially on defense, allowing the fast-sinking team to one-up them.

Rumours swirl that the Lakers are in disarray and trade talks involving half the team, including their top young talent, might have something to do with that. Either way, the Raptors should sweep LeBron for the first time.

Or maybe the King puts up another classic performance and dominates the Raptors? This would be a nightmare scenario and could just mess up the psyche of the team and the city even if James won’t cross paths with Toronto in the playoffs again. For everyone’s sake, Toronto needs to beat LeBron and end the curse of LeBronTO once and for all.
