Kyle Lowry

Kyle Lowry started off the week in fine fettle, with a strong performance against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Lowry had 19 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds in a near triple-double effort, and was one of the main catalysts as the Raptors held out for the victory at home. Lowry was exceptional at distributing the ball, and his blossoming chemistry with Marc Gasol was once again in full effect.

It was on the road in Detroit that Lowry was at his finest, this week. A superhuman performance against the Pistons was the highlight of his week, even if it wasn’t enough to take home the victory.

He finished the night with a season-high 35 points on 11-24 shooting and 42-percent from three. As this writer has mentioned a million times, Kyle Lowry is at his best when he’s aggressive, attacking the rim and forcing defenses to foul him at the rim.

Lowry also tied his season-high in made free-throws, as he got to the line nine times and made seven of them, matching the seven he made against Boston back in November.

Overtime would have been a mess if it wasn’t for Kyle, who scored all of the Raptors seven points after regulation. The Pistons ran out 112-107 winners but it would have been a completely different game if there was no intervention from Kyle Lowry.

Lowry struggled against the Rockets, largely due to the fact he was trying to save the sinking ship that was the bench. His eight points, six rebounds and six assists weren’t enough. He was sloppy with the ball and missed all of his three-pointers, a far cry from his performances throughout the week.

Consistency is key.
