Rodney Hood & Wilson Chandler

You decided to move forward with Rodney Hood and Wilson Chandler. You’re banking that Rodney Hood’s recent resurgence in Portland wasn’t a fluke and that he’s worth $9.7 million.

He has the highest ceiling of the available options, but the lowest floor. Hood was a 20 point per game scorer in Utah early in his career. He also was traded to the Portland Trailblazers for essentially nothing. Signing him is a risk, but a calculated one.

Wilson Chandler is a much lesser risk. He’s a 10-year veteran who might have lost a step or two but still has enough to give a few rotation-quality minutes here and there. He might not have been your first choice, but with $3.8 million, what else can you do?

Next, you’ll need to sign two minimum contracts, a wing and a point guard.

A couple of possible guard options:

  • Raymond Felton
  • Isaiah Thomas
  • Rajon Rondo
  • Shelvin Mack

A couple of possible wing options:

  • Thabo Sefolosha
  • Alec Burks
  • Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot
  • Jodie Meeks

For illustrative purposes, we will move forward with Shelvin Mack and Jodie Meeks but you can choose whoever you’d like.

That means the final roster you’ve chosen is:

  • Point Guard: Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, Shelvin Mack
  • Shooting Guard: Norman Powell, Rodney Hood
  • Small Forward: OG Anunoby, Jodie Meeks, Malcolm Miller
  • Power forward: Pascal Siakam,  Wilson Chandler, Chris Boucher
  • Center: Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka, Dewan Hernandez

Not happy with the results? Feel free to start back over.
