Next up on our offseason previews, we take a look at Pascal Siakam. How did he perform last season? What can he improve on? What will his role be next year?

Pascal Siakam‘s offseason will be very important, not only for him but the Toronto Raptors as a whole. With Toronto losing some vital pieces earlier this offseason, Siakam is now being looked at as the guy for the Raptors next season.

To put it mildly, Siakam’s improvement last year was incredibly impressive. He was able to become the second in command behind former Raptor (it hurts to say that) Kawhi Leonard. He transformed himself from a promising prospect to a young star in the NBA.

Even though he has already had what many consider his “breakout year”, there is much more room for growth when it comes to Siakam’s game. He still has many aspects of his play which can be tightened up over the course of this offseason.

Although the Raptors still have many solid pieces still on their roster, their upcoming season will largely live and die with Pascal. His performance next year could be the difference between Toronto looking to sell or looking to acquire championship talent when the trade deadline rolls around next February. Masai Ujiri and company are certainly hoping for the latter.

This summer will be one of the most important offseasons in Pascal Siakam’s young career. If he can improve areas of his game that lacked from last season and strengthen his already blossoming skill set, he could be in line for a major payday next summer.
