Five most anticipated games for the Toronto Raptors in 2019
2. vs Boston Celtics – December 25
Well, it’s about time. Right?
After years of disservice, the Raptors finally get the Christmas Day game. Finally. The Toronto Raptors have been one of the NBA’s most consistent teams over the past five years, winning 50-plus games three seasons in a row, and making it to the Eastern Conference Finals twice, and going one step better this year, winning their first-ever NBA title.
The reward, other than the big shiny Larry O’Brien trophy, is a slot on the Christmas Day agenda, something that has evaded the Raptors for so long now. At last, it feels like the Raptors have the respect they deserve. Ultimately though, is it that big of a deal?
Who’s to say, but we know that two of the best teams in the East will be facing off on December 25, while Raptors and Celtics fans around the world sit with bated breath.
As always, a game against the Boston Celtics will have an interesting feel to it. Two teams that’ll likely be battling in the three to six seed section of the Eastern Conference, presuming that the Sixers and Milwaukee Bucks take the next step and separate themselves from the rest of the pack.
Both teams will be substantially different than last year, with both Kyrie Irving and Al Horford departing the Celtics. Kemba Walker arrives, though. As Raptors fans know, Walker can do damage.
Oh, did we mention the game is on Christmas Day? Chills.
