How do the Toronto Raptors players look when they are reimagined as characters from Harry Potter?
With the offseason at a standstill, and fans desperately waiting for the new season to tip-off at the end of October, it’s about time to get a little funky to help us stay engaged while we wait. With that being said, there are numerous ways that the Toronto Raptors can be reimagined as characters from Harry Potter, yet this focus will be on the last year.

Any great basketball season or story has a narrative arc to it, one that ends in success or failure. In numerous ways, the Raptors past few seasons before the championship have read like a book without a successful ending: There have been highs, but they were nebulous by nature and the lows seemingly outweighed them.
But success isn’t as meaningful when easy, and the Raptors players and fans should agree. Likewise, fans of Harry Potter wouldn’t have lined up at their local bookstores at midnight for the release of a story that had an easy and simple conclusion.
Instead, they lined up because they were so desperately invested in finding out the success of our heroes, who had gone through many tumultuous failures. This isn’t dissimilar than the manner in which people gathered outside in Jurassic Park to watch beauty take place as the clock ticked zero in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.
After a championship end to last season, we have an ending that finally met our needs as rabid Toronto Raptors fans. The parallels between the Harry Potter series and the Toronto Raptors didn’t need a lot of farfetched reaches to compare–because the Raptors finally completed their own, complex hero’s journey just like our heroes from Harry Potter.
Here’s how the comparisons played out:
