With any comparison, there will be stretches that seem farfetched. However, after diving into the idea, the comparisons flowed freely and unimpeded as if the Raptors themselves truly mimicked the series penned by J.K. Rowling.

Any great basketball season or story has a narrative arc to it, one that ends in success or failure. In numerous ways, the Raptors past few seasons before the championship have read like a book without a successful ending: There have been highs, but they were nebulous by nature and the lows seemingly outweighed them.

The parallels between the Harry Potter series and the Toronto Raptors didn’t need a lot of farfetched reaches to compare–because the Raptors finally completed their own, complex hero’s journey just like our heroes from Harry Potter.
