Speaking of masterplans, this leads us to our second character by reconsidering Masai Ujiri as Albus Dumbledore.

Like Dumbledore, Ujiri had the keys to the master plan all along. He orchestrated a trade that swapped DeMar DeRozan with Kawhi Leonard and, in turn, led to an NBA Title. Ujiri put the right personnel in the right place at the right time albeit with a bit of luck.

Dumbledore does much of the same, except that his master plan culminated with the sacrifice of his own superhero in Harry Potter. Whether this now means that DeMar DeRozan is our eponymous hero, we will discuss at length later on.

Otherwise, Dumbledore set into motion all the necessary tasks to dismantle the ostensibly unbeatable Voldemort. While some of his moves seemed heartless, they were, in fact, necessary for the destruction of such a necessary evil.

Ujiri has made some similar moves of his own, but when the season was done and the Warriors were slain for the title, the fans weren’t calling for Ujiri’s head. Instead, they praised his gutsy moves as the team strutted through Toronto with cheers, tears, and laughter parading them along the way.

Yet, while Ujiri dreamed up the master plan, he needed the players to enact it. With a final move to seal the master plan, Ujiri summoned a smart and intelligent player to finish what he had started.
