Norman Powell

"“I try to be consistent, but I can’t” (Can I?)"

Yep, this one is pretty self-explanatory. Powell has had some incredible moments over his first four NBA seasons – mostly against the Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers – but he’s been wildly inconsistent.

Powell had a quiet rookie year before making huge contributions to Toronto’s first playoff series win of the ‘We the North’ era. His three-point shooting then fell off a cliff over the next two seasons, only to return to a 40 percent mark last season. All the while, Powell has floated in and out of Toronto’s rotation, finally settling in as the third man off the bench during the 2019 postseason. Even then, Powell’s play fluctuated throughout the Raptors’ championship run.

He tries to be consistent, but he can’t (except against the Bucks).

OG Anunoby

"“And they sayin’ I’m back, I’d agree with that / I just take my time with all this s***, I still believe in that” (Headlines)"

After his strong rookie season in 2017-18, many people were excited to see how OG Anunoby could develop on a title contender last year. However, between personal issues and various injuries, Anunoby missed 15 regular-season games and Toronto’s entire playoff run during his sophomore season (though he was available to play during the NBA Finals). His season was derailed by unfortunate events that were out of his control.

However, it seems like Anunoby is finally healthy and will be ready for training camp. He took his time, and after a long wait, the Raptors will hope to see improvements in his game.

Anunoby is the projected starter at small forward to begin the season, and there are many more minutes and shots available for him than in his first two NBA seasons. This is his chance to show what he’s got.
