1. Pascal Siakam

There is no question that Pascal Siakam gives the Toronto Raptors the most bang for the buck. Siakam has quickly proven that he is a rising star in the NBA, and after last year’s breakout season, many are wondering just how high his ceiling is.

Siakam exploded onto the scene last season, becoming the second in command behind former Raptor Kawhi Leonard. He averaged 17 points, seven rebounds, and three assists per game while posting an incredibly efficient 59-percent EFG%. He won the NBA’s Most Improved Player Award and was crucial in the Raptors’ title run. He did all of this while being paid about $1.5 million dollars. If that isn’t a bargain in today’s NBA, I’m not sure what is.

To put it into perspective, last season, Siakam was the 388th highest-paid NBA player and the 159th best-paid forward according to HoopsHype. He made less than Greg Monroe and Malachi Richardson. Next year, he’s going to make less than Patrick McCaw, Stanley Johnson, and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

With all that being said, the Raptors should prepare to bring the Brinks trucks for Spicy-P when next summer rolls around. It is very likely (almost a certainty at this point), that Siakam will receive a max, or near-max level contract sometime over the next calendar year.

Under his current contract, the Raptors are getting star-caliber production from Siakam, but for a bench player price. His incredible value last season allowed the Raptors to be aggressive acquiring higher-priced contracts, even if they weren’t quite worth the value they provided.

All of these players give the Raptors value on their current deals. With multiple contracts set to expire shortly, Toronto should appreciate these values while they have them. The Raptors seem to have a knack at finding and signing talented players at great prices, and these players are examples of that.
