Pascal Siakam

Now, there’s more hype surrounding Pascal Siakam than anyone else in a Raptors uniform this season, and rightly so. The NBA’s reigning Most Improved Player heads into his fourth NBA season as the new primary scorer of the Toronto Raptors with big shoes to fill.

The void left by Kawhi Leonard is a big one to fill indeed, and one can only wonder how Siakam will stack up in comparison. Personally, we’ve seen enough from Siakam to give an indication that he’s up to the task.

Last season, Siakam narrowly missed out on an All-Star selection, and even the chance to make an All-NBA team. It wouldn’t have been crazy, or even wrong if he made one. Siakam was a dominant force for the Raptors last season – as well as operating as the teams best defender.

In short, Siakam was an elite NBA player last season and should be this season too. The only problem is, the players in front of him in the rankings are some of the best in the game. That shows how far Siakam has come in just three years, but there’s still room to improve.

The likes of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Anthony Davis, and Blake Griffin are better than Siakam right now. There’s also a case for Draymond Green and Al Horford, but both dropped off a little last season.

Pascal Siakam is a reigning NBA champion, though, and one of the most unique talents in the NBA – so he gets the nod here.
