We continue our season previews of Toronto Raptors opponents with the Central Division, one of the top divisions in the NBA.

The Central Division has been filled with excitement since the end of the 2013-14 season. During that year fans saw the Indiana Pacers lead the East while the Chicago Bulls finished fourth. These were the only two teams from the Central Division that made it to the playoffs while the Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, and Milwaukee Bucks found themselves watching the playoffs from the comfort of their couches. This season, this division could cause the Toronto Raptors some problems.

As the years progressed we saw a number of changes within the division. The rise and fall of the Cavaliers with the return and departure of LeBron James. The progression of growth and strength from the Bucks team as Giannis Antetokounmpo progressed and developed himself into one of the most dominant players in the NBA.

Fans saw the fall of the Bulls’ Derrick Rose era to be replaced by a rebuild and the odd flip-flop of the Pistons sneaking in and out of the playoffs. Overall the Central Division has seen drastic changes over the past several years.

The Central Division has the potential to be an exciting group of teams to watch in the 2019-20 NBA season. The division has two top teams from in the Bucks and Pacers. Then they have Pistons and Bulls which both have the potential of providing NBA fans some fun basketball throughout the 2019-20 season. And finally, the Cavaliers who had their moment but will once again struggle this season.

With this mix also comes a drastic difference between the best and worst teams (which will most likely end at the top and bottom of the East). There’s a good chance that you’ll only be watching the Bucks, with a bit of Pacers, and a splash of the Pistons.

Nevertheless, the Central Division will provide a bit of everything and will satisfy whatever sort of basketball fan you are. Without further ado here is the Central division preview for the 2019-20 NBA season.
