Welcome to the first edition of Trash-talk: A Toronto Raptors gossip column. Here we discuss everything about the Toronto Raptors outside the actual game of basketball (with the occasional on-court gaffe!)

Trash-talk: A Toronto Raptors gossip column will be a weekly article that wants everything to do with the Toronto Raptors. Except, well… basketball. We want Twitter feuds, pre-and-postgame media appearances, Serge Ibaka cookin’ up something weird, Fred VanVleet making strange Axe commercials, and genuine hilarity.

Sometimes, we’ll borrow a copy from Shaqtin’-a-fool‘s playbook and find some on-court mishaps. Likewise, we’ll be prudent in our research and do our best to cover all things outside of basketball in this column.

And we want you, the reader, to feel involved!  What was the funniest thing that you saw the past week? What happened off the court that nobody seems to be talking about? Feel free to tag @RaptorsRapture or @HughesWithMe on Twitter if you find some hidden gold or message either of us directly with goofy video and photographs.

In the first edition of Trash-talk, we’re going to dive into things that happened over the offseason and into the preseason. There was a lot to filter through, but some hilarious moments nonetheless.

But all in all, it was actually relatively quiet for the Toronto Raptors, other than a few select free agents leaving. Of course, this helped juice up some unbelievable quotes and storylines that may have gone relatively unnoticed and we’re going to cover them today.

Without further ado, the first Trash-talk column of the year!
