Pascal Siakam’s scoring

Stat: Pascal Siakam is averaging 28 points per game (6th in the NBA)

If you haven’t been paying attention to the Raptors, let us just clarify something for you: Pascal Siakam is, in fact, the real deal. Oh yes, he really is.

Siakam has turned on the jets since making the leap to the Raptors’ primary scoring option this year. Questions were asked at first, and many wondered if Siakam really could handle constant defensive schemes based around stopping him, with the opposing team’s best defender guarding him on a nightly basis.

His game has taken a huge leap once again, and it’s not too farfetched for him to potentially win the NBA’s Most Improved Player for the second year in a row – something that has never happened in the league’s history.

Siakam has proved that he’s just as confident with his jump shot as he is when attacking the rim – something that seemed largely unthinkable two years ago. As it stands, Pascal Siakam is currently shooting 44-percent from three on 5.4 three-point attempts per game, an astounding percentage.

While that percentage might remain hard to keep up, the points per game don’t seem too out of reach. Siakam is a unique player even without the jump shot, and the addition of such makes him that harder to stop. He’s the number one option on a team that is vying for a high playoff seed this season, he’s going to continue to get looks and is talented enough to take advantage of them.

There might be a slight drop off, but the numbers might not change too much.

VERDICT: LIKELY SUSTAINABLE

Next. Stock Take, plus Siakam's dominance. dark

This comes with the caveat of a small sample size, but if everything falls into place for the Toronto Raptors, this could be a likely outcome for the Raptors this season.
